Madam, I Would Drink It.

I will start with this: until today, I had not appreciated Uta Hagen--at all. After having been introduced to her work by someone with a greater grasp of the subject (thank you Mr. Davis) than the acting teacher who first taught me Uta Hagen, I am sufficiently appreciative of her style, and intend to utilize it in this and future role preparation(s). Just because I feel like letting go of the last prejudice I had against this, I will explain for whatever reason; the acting teacher who introduced me to Ms. Hagen's work started well. I could see the merit in the first few of the nine questions, but then she got to the "What Is My Relationship?" Here she went off reading vast passages of Ms. Hagen's book and connecting them in a fashion that struck me as far too intently materialistic. It was a mixture of her obsession with this ONE question and her thinking that these questions should be in an actor's mind constantly that drove me away.

Voila.

Anyways. Lunch time was great. I will never drink coffee or walk into a bathroom without remembering. The first run through was interesting to watch, and the great excitement is that we've gotten this far at all. I'm very happy to be participating in this. I hope to have the questions up here tomorrow evening.
