Threading=Blocking

I was just mending the straps for my costume, and after about 30 minutes spent just threading and re-threading the needle I remembered why I should never sew at night. Threading is one of the few things in life I find more tedious than blocking.

I did think, though, that today's blocking went smoothly without a lot of time wasted. I love getting plays on their feet, but I'll admit sitting around today got boring.

In regards to the morning lecture I'd like to say that I want to go to theatre school and get lectured on theatre history all day long. I love it. I think the History Channel needs to replace Ice Road Truckers (which isn't even history) with a program dedicated to theatre. I feel like I learned much more today than I have in previous acting/English classes, where most of the time was spent going over dates or just translating the plays into "our own words". I've been eating M&Ms tonight so that, should we get another long lecture, my butt will be less boney and more comfortable to sit on. Thank you, Ian, for your rants. Don't ask me to stop you because I won't.

I think we're going to make the audience a little uncomfortable and creeped out with this production, and I love that.

  1. Amen sister! I'm double majoring in English and Theatre in college and hopefully one day I will spend each day listening to wonderful lectures about theatre and theatre history:)

  2. I love you Chloe! Because honestly, I'm with you on almost all of this. And I'm so glad we got through more stuff than I usually do in theatre stuff. =D
