All I want . . .

Actually, I'm not all that fond of coffee. . . Which of course means that I ingest a frightening amount of sugar with the caffine from soda, but that's so not the point.

Tongue twisters are fun. They make me happy. Wow, I am such a total dork! Maybe it's just because I like rhythms. . .

Anyway, today was also quite enjoyable-focusing on the voice unit, very, very important. We attempted to put holes in the wall with our voices alone. I, for one, failed, and since I heard no exclamations of shock or triumph, I am forced to conclude that others did likewise. However, I don't think that this has always been the case. I noticed, while attempting to place my own holes in the wall, that there were several small patched holes, and I found myself wondering if any of them were the result of an overly exuberant voice exercise done by an incredibly vocal actor. I suppose I'll just have to wonder. . .

This day was particularly full of little mini plot bunnies, who keep nudging me and saying "write me, write me!" as if I don't have enough already. Unfortunately, I think that the single scene I now have half-formed in my mind of an innocent young person stumbling into a room of mooing people and freaking out will have to wait. Probably for a long time.

I also really, really loved the work with the poems. As my friends know well, I love reading aloud- and they're usually the victims of this pastime. So, getting to spend any amount of time being told to read sections of text aloud- that just rocks.

Shell Silverstein poems are awesome, and that one is one of my favourites, partly just because I love reading lists. Not, like, grocery lists or ingreedient lists, I'm not that bad (yet) but Shakespearean lists, and dramatic or poetic lists are just fun, because they just keep building!

I enjoyed getting to read the 'scary' text this time, since I read the 'love' poem last time. I think I may have had a bit too much fun with it, but that's not the point.

Plus, we got to talk about Harry Potter- that's always a bonus.

Then, we talked about costumes. Maybe I'm just a total girl, but I like costumes. I'm really excited because there's a dress that I've been sort of in love with for about 10 years now (which is really sad, but it's an awesome dress), and I've never had a reason to wear it, nor would it ever fit me (it's my mothers) and now I have an excuse. I'm really, really excited about that.

Other than that, it was interesting to see the play done from sort of an observor point of view, rather than just as a actor- it helps to give perspective, where you can look at what someone else does and think 'hey, I like what they did there' or 'well, maybe I might prefer to do this. . .'

That being said, I'm going to look forward to tomorrow- yay for blocking!

p.s. if we actually follow through on the suggestion to see Harry Potter 6 as a group, I suggest we do so on the Saturday following its release, just because fewer people would be able to go to the midnight showing, much less the same midnight showing. Those who are total dorks and are going at midnight, like myself, would probably be willing to see it twice (if only to spend the entire second time bemoaning the inaccuracies).
