Hello everyone!
I suppose I shall begin with a story again. When I was five and moving over to the US from Hungary (which is next to Austria), I had to come over on a plane. Our stuff came on a boat, but I came on a plane. There was an aisle between me and my dad and older brother, and my mother and my younger brother sat behind me. So I was alone. And I took a nap and I woke up and the first thing I saw was a man with gray hair that was quite tall and I started bawling. The lesson I learned was that I shouldn't fear the unknown because maybe, just maybe, it's some tall man with gray hair and not the sea creature from the deep. Draw what parallels you will with STC.
Today was fun, I really enjoyed the breathing exercises and I learned a lot about my own ability to breathe deeply, and also my own ability as an athlete (I swim). I realized I couldn't breathe when I ran because when you swim... you are horizontal on the water and it's a whole lot easier to breathe. This was really great. The tongue twisters were very challenging and I had a really hard time, mostly because we had learned variations on it in drama class at school. I found out that despite my know-it-all ideas, I do NOT open my jaw and use it as much as I should.
The read through was SUCH a blast. I really enjoyed getting to get up and try and work with the script as I read it for the first time. Since I had read it already- twice (once when I got the script, and once when we read through the first time), I had an unfair advantage. I'm not sure what I want yet with my character but we shall see, and I will keep experimenting with her to see what I like/what I don't.
As for the people, I love you all immensely and there is no better group I could hope to work with in terms of a 25 cast or a 24 cast.
Love,
Julia
P.S. I will not bore you with the inside jokes everyone has already stated about stars, black objects, etc.
P.S.S. My swim team won their swim meet tonight, 299 to somethin-somethin against the other team. =]
P.S.S.S. What kind of shoes did you want with our costumes again, Ian?
